VELCRO® #101Uses Challenge - #27 A Bilingual Learning-to-read game

Living in a bilingual household, it's always hard to know when to introduce the written aspect of the "secondary" language. I am always worried about confusing things by introducing both languages at once with their conflicting spelling and pronunciation rules when the kids are just trying to get to grips with learning to read and write in one language, let alone two.

I came up with the idea of making little bilingual cards that can be attached to objects around the house so that they can visualise both languages and spellings simultaneously. The fact that they are attached with VELCRO® tabs means you can pull them all off and send the kids on an educational treasure hunt, trying to locate all the objects around the house to stick their word cards on to too.

Disclosure : I received a hamper of VELCRO® products in order to take part in the VELCRO® #101uses challenge.
